Wine Description:
The addition of the Dornfelder grape, known best for its deep, delicious color has greatly enhanced the ruby highlights in this wine.
A medium intense nose reveals sour cherry, vanilla, chocolate and suggestions of woodiness. Soft in the mouth, another Dornfelder
contribution, the flavours centre on licorice, cherry and coffee.
Suggested Food Accompaniments:
A delightfully easy going wine, its velvety texture and red fruit characteristics make it ideal for pot roasts, stews, Moussaka and creamy cheeses.
2008 Awards:
2008 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition - Bronze
Reviews:
Purple-black; earthy, black fruits; plum, prune and bitter chocolate flavours; acidic finish.
